Recent programme report: Mitigating ecological effects of roads in California.

HCI Ltd. is a small UK-based environmental consultancy, working on wild species and habitats protection, primarily in Europe and North America. It has provided independent research and services for a wide range of government, commercial, private and charitable organisations and institutions for over 30 years. We work with a network of trusted associate individuals, companies and networks to form appropriate teams for each commission.

Expertise held by our Director and principal ecologist Tom Langton, addresses habitat and species management for terrestrial vertebrates, invertebrates and plants. Work includes population and habitat study and analysis. Also, developing advisory guidelines and publications and promoting best practice in practical aspects of nature conservation. From regional and national policy development, to quality standards appraisal, and legislative aspects of infringement and enforcement. We advise on alternative dispute resolution, tribunals and court settings and specialist aspects of government inquiries. A wide range of experience and skill-sets offer clients advice for each individual challenge.

As a policy, pro bono time and resources each year are directed to not-for-profit bodies. These further the aims of sustainable approaches to address the Biodiversity and Climate Crises through activities such as habitat restoration, and expert witness statements.
